We have a collaborative atmosphere, meaning that, we help each other with the challenges of hairdressing.  Our knowledge and team spans many generations, and is always growing and changing.

The Rio Philosophy is Teamwork and Education.  This is how we stay on top of our everchanging beauty industry.  We require our staff to get continuing education throughout every year.  We bring in National Educators 2 times a year and attend outside education when available. We have Redken Master stylists, Redken Color Certified and Design Certified Stylists.  We are Certified in Bellami Hair Extensions and have multiple certifications in Mizani’s Aircut.  Choose the right stylist for you and let us show you how to look and feel good.

Fran White

Professional Hairstylist

Hourly Base Price $75

Francis White was born in Tallahassee (go Seminoles!). She learned her craft at TCC/Euro Hair. She moved to Jacksonville and started working at Rio Hair Studio in 2006. She is always keeping up with the latest fashion trends.  Fran received her Redken Design Certification in 2016 and is a Redken Master Stylist. Her hobbies are volunteering, reading and shopping. Francis is married and has one wonderful daughter.  Her personal style is classic modern. Francis strives to make her guests feel special, appreciated and unique. If you want a classic but modern look Fran is the stylist for you.  She works Wednesday-Saturday, with some late appointments available Thursday.

Isabel Mclaren

Professional Hairstylist

Hourly Base Price $70

Isabel began her career with Rio in 2018.  Isabel has skills that most hairdressers take years to acquire.  She is an accomplished and compassionate hairdresser. She has a passion for up-dos, vivid colors, and balayage.  Hair painting is an art the “Issy” has perfected.  She is amazing at creating soft, lived-in looks that don’t require high maintenance. She will happily share her appetite for creating the newest color trends and crafting a new look that fits only you.  During her downtime, she paints and hangs with her family. Chantz Pinkston

Chantz was born in Owensboro, KY.  He moved to Jacksonville in 2011 to find a new path in life.  Chantz received his education at Aveda Academy.  He began his career in 2016 and joined our team in August 2020. He has a passion for almost everything hair but he specializes in hair color.  Check out his Instagram for some examples of his talent. Chantz is available,  Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Sara Dupuis

Sara joined Team Rio in October 2021.  Sara was raised in Jacksonville Beach and went to Fletcher High School.  She began working at a local salon and fell in love with the beauty industry. She graduated from Aveda.  Sara loves anything artistic.  She enjoys making big changes for her guests. She is certified in extensions, event styling, and dimensional colorist! Her hobbies include painting and creating clothes. Natalie King

Natalie joined our team in April 2022.  She graduated from Aveda Institute in 2020.   Natalie loves blonding and vivid, “fun color”.  She expresses her creative side through her clients’ hair. She has a humble demeanor but once you get to know her, you will want to establish a relationship with you that will last and grow. Natalie has many hobbies, including Reading, Video games, Horticulture and Shopping.  Her favorite restaurant is Hawkers. Lexi Townsend

Lexi is a breath of fresh air.  She was born and raised in Jacksonville.  She was also raised in the salon industry, assisting in her family salon since she was 15.  Lexi arrived at Rio in Jan 2022, and the atmosphere in the salon changed immediately.  Her bubbly, positive, and sweet attitude inspires her peers, as well as her clients. Lexi graduated from Paul Mitchell in 2016 and began specializing in lived-in color, and color blocking.  Making natural dark hair lighter is one of her specialties.  If you are looking for a big transformation and a great vibe, Lexi is the stylist for you. Terri Walker joined our team in August 2023.  Terri is a kind-hearted person who loves to bring back the sparkle to her clients. Terri specializes in low-maintenance/lived-in looks. Terri attended Paul Mitchell School in Jacksonville. She moved to Michigan, but luckily, she has come back to Jacksonville to share her passion for hair.  Terri is partial to naturally blended blonding and dimensional color.  Terri can help you achieve warm summer blondes and long layered cuts. She loves spending time with her husband of 25 years and her daughters, ages 21 and 16.  She recently rescued a cat Binx and is in love with this boy. Autumn Menard

Autumn joined our team in August 2023.  When you first meet Autumn, you are drawn in by her “beautiful smile.”  Autumn is new to Jacksonville, but she is not new to hairdressing.  She attended UP North School of Cosmetology. Her 15 years of experience is an asset to our salon. It gives her confidence and skill to meet any cutting or coloring challenge you might have. Autumn is certified in Bellami Hair Extensions and would love to enhance your length or give you fuller hair. Autumn’s hair passions are beautiful Vivid colors, blonding, balayage, color melts, edgy cuts, and classic bobs. Autumn has been married for 13 years and has two children, ages 9 and 15. Ashley Wysong

Ashley Marie Wysong was born and raised in Buford, Georgia. She moved to Jacksonville, Florida, during her senior year of high school. She joined our team in 2022. Ashley’s passion for hairdressing came from her stepmother.  Her stepmother is a hairdresser. While growing up, the industry always surrounded her, she frequently accompanied her stepmother to the salon and was always fascinated by the different creative styles. Ashley specializes in lived-in color and haircutting. She enjoys reading and hanging out with her friends in her free time. Rachel Lee is originally from Alabama. She joined our team in 2024. She was an Army brat. She has traveled and lived in Italy and Germany. She graduated from Auburn University in 2020 with a BA in Psychology, A war Eagle!  Rachel has been in the salon industry for 5 years.  She began to help clients with their hair needs 3 years ago. Her favorite services are lived in color and highlights. She is considered a blonde specialist. She is engaged to be married in May of 2025. She is a mom to 3 cats and lots of plants. Zoe Marshall

Zoe Joined us in 2024.  She was born and raised in Jacksonville.  She lives with her kitties and partner.  She has many dreams, 1. To travel as much as possible, 2. To provide fun, funky cuts and colors to her clients. She wants to help people feel and be their best selves. Her goal is to do this while being able to express herself as creatively and visually as she can! Zoe will be specializing in vivids, alternative cuts, extensions, and texture styles. Michelle Maurer

Front Desk Customer Service Coordinator

Michelle was born in Brunswick, ME and relocated to St. Augustine from just outside of New Orleans, LA. Michelle joined RIO as a receptionist in November of 2016. She quickly took to the task of customer coordinator and has made herself indispensable. She is currently our Front Desk Lead so if there is a question you need answered she is the person to ask.  Michelle is someone who will go over and beyond to make sure you are happy with your service and your appointment. She loves keeping up with fashion and new design trends. Michelle and her husband, Steve, love to Golf and travel.

Misty Burbridge

Misty Burbridge is a Jacksonville native who attended Englewood High School and Florida State College in Jacksonville. She opened RIO Hair Studio in 1990 in the San Jose area of town with partner Shannon Hogg. She is now the sole owner of the salon. She is a Master Specialist and has earned Redken Color Certification. Her style is trendy and funky. Misty and her husband, Clint, love to travel and visit with their extended family.
